Vintage Village Fête + Classic Cars at St Anthony’s School, Chichester
Saturday, 20th May at 11am
We are delighted to tell you that the St Anthony’s School event is receiving a facelift this year. It is being augmented by the addi on of Chichester’s very popular Vintage Market. Many of you will have seen the Vintage Market stalls lining the centre of the city from time to time, selling everything from locally made craft items, clothing, hardware/car accessories to tempting food and drink.
The date has been brought forward from June to May, principally to avoid clashing with the many similar school events during June and July, but it will also give you a nice early opportunity to display your vehicle to an appreciative audience.
At the time of writing, other attractions will include a mobile zoo, candy floss vendor, Mrs Pink’s traditional ice creams, raffle, up to 3 different tombola stalls, plant stall, books, miniature steam railway and BBQ. Period music will be provided by Sounds OK from the stage and there will be a number of local entertainment acts.
Light lunches and afternoon teas will be provided within the Traditional English Tea Garden.
The event will commence with ‘The Big Hoot’ at 11am, followed by the
presentation of a £50 John Lewis voucher to the classic car owner who has
the winning ticket. (Tickets are free and issued at the entrance—one per car).
To accommodate the extra attractions at this year’s event, the opening time has been stretched to 11am—4pm.
We very much hope you will be able to attend because the children of this OFSTED Outstanding school really look forward to seeing your classic vehicles. The school is a registered charity.
Look forward to seeing you!

Message from the LL editor.

Don’t forget this Sunday (19th) is our Spring Autojumble at The Grange Centre, Midhurst. Always well attended by stall holders and the public, hope to see lots of you there and tell all your friends to come along to, they might be able to grab a bargin or two!!
We have received the email below asking if we, The Double LL Club would like to attend this event, please contact them for more information and an entry form.
Dear All at the Double LL Club!,
We are back! Thanks to the enthusiasm and fresh ideas of an even bigger organising committee as well as the full support of The National Trust (Petworth House) the Fete in the Park returns to the magnificent surroundings in the 700 acres deer park on Saturday 8th July.
We really hope to see the Double LL Club back with us and you will be able to bring your historic vehicles to Petworth for the Fete in the Park. We hope to have even more attractions and displays than ever. The Classic Car display will once again be one of the key attractions. As in previous years there is no entry fee and everyone appreciates the effort you make to bring your vehicle and make this community event such a success. Please feel free to copy and send to anyone you know who owns an interesting vehicle they may wish to bring.
There will also be an opportunity to drive your car into the arena in a parade of vehicles as part of the fete programme. The Fete opens to the public at 12.00 noon and closes at 5.00pm! Please make sure your vehicle is in place by about 11.30am and if possible, stay until the end. Entrance for display vehicles is the Tillington entrance to Petworth Park on the A272 Petworth to Midhurst road. The display area for classic vehicles will be manned from 9.30 am – it would be much appreciated if you did not arrive before then! Vehicle passes will be sent out in June. One addition for 2017. Please bring a drip tray to go under your classic car or tractor. As part of a scheme to minimise impact on the environment the National Trust has entered into agreement with Natural England for Petworth Park to come under a Higher Level Stewardship Agreement. Petworth is just one of hundreds of NT properties to have such an agreement.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call on 01798 344 227 or 07974 932 335 and I look forward to welcoming you to Petworth Park on July 8th
